The Las Vegas Penguins?

In the seemingly never ending saga of the future of the Pittsburgh Penguins, It looks as though Las Vegas is entering the story. Earlier this week, Mario Lemieux had declared an impasse with representatives of the state of Pennsylvania and declared that the he will begin considering moving the team. Lemieux is reportedly talking to reps from Kansas City, Houston, and even Las Vegas. At the end of the day, I think the Penguins will either stay in Pittsburgh or move to Kansas City, but Las Vegas is an intriguing possibility. In a globalized world where gambling is commonplace everywhere, the moral qualms that are typically worried about should not be much of an issue. Las Vegas is a market untapped by any of the major sports leagues and a move into the city before the NBA or the NFL do could be very lucrative for the NHL. Even if the Penguins don't end up in Las Vegas, the NHL should consider Las Vegas for when another team decides to move.

I created this quite a while ago due to my interest in blogging. I quickly abandoned it soon after it's creation, but I hope to be able to put in the time to make this a successful blog on my second time around. Now, I doubt anybody will actually end up reading this post, but i figure it is polite if I introduce myself. I go by the name HenryMalredo and I am an avid hockey fan, especially the Detroit Red Wings. I also am I fan of the Detroit Lions and The Michigan State Spartans, but on this blog, my main focus while the Red Wings and the NHL in general.
